Te Whare Tukutuku day and CSANZ 2023
Manawataki Fatu Fatu was well-represented at this year’s Cardiac Society of Australia and New Zealand meeting, kicking off with our Co-Principal Investigator, Corina Grey, delivering this year’s Heart Foundation NZ lecture. It was a fantastic opportunity for some of our PhD students to showcase their work, including Jess Hutchings (“Achieving equitable health outcomes for Pacific people living with cardiovascular disease in Aotearoa New Zealand: exploring the contribution of community pharmacists”) and Sarah Penney (“Cultural safety in paramedic practice: Experiences of Māori and whānau”). Co-PI investigator, Matire Harwood, Karen Brewer and Vanessa Selak gave updates on the rest of the Manawataki Fatu Fatu programme.
Thank you to Lisa Wong, of Pūtahi Manawa, for the photos!
The day prior to CSANZ, we had an uplifting gathering, Te Whare Tukutuku. This was a wonderful day for Māori and Pacific heart health professionals and researchers to connect and tautoko each other’s hard work. Ngā mihi nui to our hosts and organisers.
