Fono: setting the scene

We began our kaupapa by beginning to weave together the qualitative and quantitative streams of our programme. The agenda for the day included an overview of statistics on the life expectancy gap of 6-7 years between Maori / Pacific and Non-Maori / Non-Pacific groups, and the contribution of cardiovascular disease; a theory session exploring Māori and Pacific theoretical frameworks; and
an introduction to the Integrated Data Infrastructure (IDI) Stats NZ.
